JOB OVERVIEW:

This position entails various accounting responsibilities, such as executing journal entries, preparing supporting schedules, and managing related data. Additionally, proficiency in senior event planning is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Perform day to day month end close activities, including manual journal entries, account reconciliations, trend analysis, & roll-forwards/other analyses
  • Preparation and posting of monthly journal entries including the timely processing of accruals, amortization, prepaids, etc. using the JD Edwards accounting package.
  • Perform analyses, record periodic, recurring journal entries based on business rules
  • Support initiatives with Business Unit Finance teams to drive process improvements and ensure accurate accounting
  • Preparation of intercompany account billings as well as analyses of the accounts to verify proper posting activity.
  • Responsible for documenting accounting control procedures and creating procedural manuals of various responsibilities.
  • Works with Internal Audit and External Auditors to achieve efficient and effective quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • This position must display extraordinary follow-through skills, organization and multitask skills as well as plan and manage time effectively. They need to be outgoing and confident in the decisions made on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for overseeing housing arrangements tailored to each program, including negotiating room blocks, establishing attrition dates, closely monitoring room block utilization, maintaining open communication with hotel partners, managing the overall room block, and offering assistance and support to event attendees throughout the booking process.

  • Develops and maintains solid relationships with vendors and partners, working with a wide variety of personality types including  with 3rd Party vendor and onsite trip directors.
  • Partners and assists Event Manager in larger events through specific task assignments. Working with other planners and keeping the event manager updated on assigned tasks.. . Being a resource to the business in offering cost effective suggestions and solutions during planning.
  • Works independently without direct supervision or encouragement while being accountable for all decisions and projects and demonstrates creative, proactive thinking.  

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: 

  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office Suite with a concentration in Excel
  • Cvent experience preferred
  • Experience gathering and interpreting data
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • CPA Preferred

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: 

Typically 3 to 5 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION: 

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel typically less than 10%. Office environment. No special physical demands required.

KNOWLEDGE: 

Advanced intermediate level professional; knowledge within own discipline and developing basic knowledge of organization, processes and customers. Good judgment, sound analytical ability, evaluation, originality and ingenuity required to perform tasks.  Frequently apply the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular field. Apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of routine and non-routine issues.

COMPLEXITY: 

Work on problems of moderate scope and impact where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Analyze possible solutions using standard procedures to solve a range of straightforward problems; may recommend solutions to business challenges. Demonstrate good judgment within defined procedures and practices for obtaining solutions. Build productive internal/external working relationships.

SUPERVISION: 

Receive a moderate level of instruction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new projects or assignments. Assignments can be broad in nature.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: 

Typically, to advance to a new job level, TSMs must demonstrate professional behavior and should consistently be at the high-end of meets expectations or consistently exceed expectations

The posted range for this position is $61,085 to $106,898 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc. 

This position is eligible for a [bonus/incentive] not reflected in the posted range.
