About The Role

We are looking for a Sr. Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team and  play an integral role in refining the financial operations of our growing business. This position will report to the controller, and  will work closely with the rest of the Accounting, Finance and RevOps teams. 

The right candidate for this role will be highly motivated by a fast-paced, high-growth environment, combined with a collaborative culture. This role will  lead the daily accounting processes and financial reporting and will drive efficiencies, a strong control environment to enable best practices, standardization, and scale within a growing organization.

What You Will Do: 

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, general ledger, and financial reporting
• Assisting in managing the preparation of financial reporting information and analysis for internal and external stakeholders
• Partner with other departments to understand and support business processes, ensure proper accounting, and resolve reconciling differences
• Work closely with FP&A to deliver budget vs actual reports to different departments
• Oversee external accountants for audit and tax, and ensure timely completion of third party services
• Evaluate and Implement process and system improvements where necessary, with the goal being to close the books as quickly and accurately as possible
• Review and approve sales commissions
• Assist in the evaluation of any system implementation evaluations 

 

During the First Month:

• Learn about Niche by meeting with various team members to learn more about our company through our Onboarding meetings
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Partnership team members to learn about the company, customers, and product offerings
• Understand the processes for order to cash and procure to pay cycles
• Learn the accounting systems including Sage Intacct, Avalara, and Salesforce

Within 3 Months:

• Help complete the monthly financial close process from start to finish and produce accurate financial statements
• Take ownership of revenue reporting commissions review and sales tax processes
• Partner with FP&A to ensure accurate financial reporting

Within 6 Months:

• Work with our external accounting firm to complete the annual financial statement audit and annual tax returns, and provide required information
• Define key metrics to help analyze company performance and build reports to update automatically
• Review accounting procedures and modify or implement new procedures in order to support the introduction of new business lines and business investment plans

Within 12 Months:

• Review all accounting procedures and modify or implement new procedures in order to support the business 
• Assess the systems and technology used in accounting and reporting to determine if it meets the needs of a rapidly expanding company

 

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, required
• 7+ years of work related experience in accounting
• Management experience required 
• CPA highly preferred, but not required
• Public accounting experience required
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Previous experience with subscription-based business or products required
• Previous experience in PE or VC is a plus
• Proficient in SalesForce
• Avalara experience a plus
• Highly proficient in an ERP system (Netsuite, Intacct, etc)
• Experience with ERP implementation a strong plus
• Strong analytical skills and high level of proficiency with MS Excel and Google Sheets
• Highly organized, with good time management and prioritization skills, acute attention to detail, works with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines
• Self-starter with proven ability to research information, problem-solve and coordinate projects and initiatives
• Adaptable, versatile, and able to work in a fast paced and adapting environment
• Excited to work in a culture of measurability and continuous optimization

Compensation 

Our national target base salary range is $121,280-$151,600, plus participation in our Annual Bonus and Stock Option Program. Base compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills.
