The team

Reporting into Gilles BianRosa (COO & CPO), the Product team at Kraken is responsible for driving the continuous development and enhancement of the company’s global platform, ensuring that a seamless and innovative experience is accessible for customers worldwide. The team is dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that further Kraken’s mission, while maintaining the highest standards of security and reliability. 

Kraken’s Product domain leaders sit in augmented product leadership roles. They are fully responsible for the outcomes of their domains and play an essential role in the success of Kraken’s core business strategy. Domain leaders build and lead product squads to support their business and financial outcomes (revenue, growth, engagement, etc.) and operate as key cross-functional partners to Kraken’s marketing, legal, and compliance teams.

As the Engagement & Core Experiences domain leader, you will be responsible for ensuring that Kraken’s clients have a seamless experience across all key features on the platform by which user engagement is supported. Your team will ensure the consistent, little delights that exist throughout the Kraken experience and that keep clients coming back for more. As a result, there is constant intersectionality between Engagement & Core Experiences and all other product domains, making intra and cross-functional collaboration  essential to success. 

The opportunity
  • Oversee the the development of the overall product strategy, product roadmap, business plan and outcomes for the Engagement & Core Experiences domain at Kraken

  • Report directly into the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Product Officer, with direct exposure to other C-level executives and broader Kraken leadership

  • Responsible for 10 cross functional squads, with a direct reporting line of 10+ people on day one. This team will continue to grow, and it is expected that this leader will attract best-in-class talent, while fostering a high-performing, collaborative team culture

  • Responsible for key business KPIs and accountable for intra-domain resource prioritization

  • Act as a sponsor for domain business cases, including M&A and business development initiatives 

  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. geos, marketing) to ensure product-market fit 

  • Accountable for the regulatory compliance of any new product design within the Engagement & Core Experiences domain

  • Work closely with geos, regulatory legal, and compliance to ensure all requirements are met 

  • Align with Finance on business cases, ensure regular financial reporting, and drive domain pricing strategy 

  • Partner with other members of the Product & Operations Leadership team to ensure alignment on product and regulatory strategy, priorities, and go-to-market

  • Build an efficient operational engine within the domain (“brilliant basics”) that is designed for scale

Skills you should HODL 
  • 12+ years of product management experience with a strong understanding of consumer 

  • Passion for team building, with a strong track record of building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, resilience, innovation, and collaboration 

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills and experience managing product outcomes in a dynamic and complex regulatory environment

  • A mix of product leadership expertise in fintech and consumer internet

  • Data-driven leadership approach, with experience utilizing data analytics and user feedback to monitor product performance, identify areas for improvement, and ensure user engagement and retention

  • A champion of user-centric design principles with experience collaborating with design and engineering teams to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces that enhance usability and drive engagement

  • Macro-to-micro versatility: strategic mindset coupled with a keen attention to detail 

  • Well-rounded interpersonal skills, and experience interacting with diverse personalities 

  • Track-record of resilience, agility, and an ability to thrive in dynamic growth environments.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with strong executive presence and an ability to influence up and across an organization

  • Mission alignment: this is essential for all Krakenites and we expect our leaders to champion our mission, along with our vision and values

Nice to haves 
  • While not a strict requirement for this role, a strong understanding of the crypto industry and how customers interact with crypto is a strong plus
